The 2014 Subaru Forester Deserves the Praise

Although the Subaru Forester has maintained a loyal following since its debut onto the car market, it has yet to reach the popularity level of some of the other top-selling crossover vehicles. However, the all-new 2014 Forester is already being touted as one of the best in its segment. The popular news publication "USA Today" was not only surprised by the crossover's on-road performance, but they also described the latest Forester as being top-notch. While the Subaru Forester has always been commended for its impressive safety rating and capable all-wheel-drive system, the 2014 model year delivers the most refined Forester to date.

Aspiring buyers of the new Forester have two engine choices available. A naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine comes standard. The traditional boxer engine is able to generate a peppy 170 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. While driving purists will prefer the standard six-speed manual gearbox, many customers will likely opt for the continuous variable transmission. When paired with the CVT, the Forester shines in fuel efficiency with a 32 mpg rating on the highway. Subaru's renowned all-wheel-drive system comes standard on all trims. If you crave a beefier performance, then the optional turbocharged engine is at your disposal.

The 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder revs out a smile-inducing 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. However, a CVT is the lone transmission choice that is available. Not only does this engine make the Forester extremely quick on its feet, but it is also very efficient. From the outside, there is no denying the Forester's refreshed appearance.

The larger doors allow the passengers get in and out of the vehicle with ease. Once you are inside, you will notice that the cabin has enough space for all of the passengers to stretch out. The Forester's exceptional safety ratings further set it apart from the competition.
