Whether they live in our homes or in the wild, Subaru is committed to keeping all animals safe and healthy.

A partner since 2008, Subaru has donated over $28 million to the ASPCA and through Subaru Loves Pets has helped support the rescue, transport, adoption and well-being of over 230,000 animals across the country.

Loving the environment means more than loving the great outdoors. It means working to preserve it.

Since 2018, Subaru has partnered with TerraCycle.  Participating Subaru retailers collect hard-to-recycle trash that was headed to local landfills. We collect approximately 2 tons of this hard-to-recycle trash monthly, which will be converted to furnishings and other usable items and donated locally.

It’s our goal to make the pursuit of knowledge available to as many minds as possible.

Since 2015 Subaru, in partnership with the American Association for the Advancement Science, donated over 277,600 award-winning science books.  In addition, through our partnerships with Staples and we supported teachers and students with donations of S400,000 in gift cards and school supplies.

In a perfect world, hunger would be history and hope would be commonplace. We believe a perfect world is possible.

In 2020, Subaru and its retailers made a donation to Feeding America to provide 50 million meals to help feed people in need during the COVID-19 crisis,* making meals available at 199 local food banks across the country.
*$1 helps provide at least 10 meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks.

We should all have a chance to lead a healthy life. We’re aiming to give as many people that chance as we can.

Since 2016, Subaru and its retailers have partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to donate over 167,000 blankets and 21,500 arts & crafts kits and reached nearly 150,000 patients in more than 780 hospitals nationwide.

Huge Thanks to Busam Subaru for "Sharing the Love"  –  Michelle O

For the past three years, the Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati has been the grateful beneficiary of Busam Subaru’s “Share the Love” event. This event provides Busam Subaru car buyers with a unique platform to support Literacy Network efforts, raise awareness, and provide much needed financial support for our literacy and outreach programs. Since 2017, Busam Subaru customers have raised an astounding $82,408 for the Literacy Network! These funds have been instrumental in supporting the growth of our Little Free Library program that was launched in 2018. In two years, the Literacy Network has placed over 80 Little Free Libraries throughout the Greater Cincinnati community in the past two years and distributed over 59,000 books! These Little Free Libraries not only improve access to reading materials, but also serve as an important connection between neighbors. These funds also support the Literacy Network’s suite of literacy programs for both children and adults that are free of charge to the participants.Busam Subaru also encourages their customers to donate books by posting signs that read “Busam Subaru is “Driven” to Help Our Community Read – Donate Books Here”. Busam Subaru truly is “driven” to help our community and has been a long-time advocate for our mission. We are immensely grateful for this platform to raise funds and share our mission with Subaru customers. John Busam, owner of Busam Subaru, has been on the Literacy Network Board of Directors and a member of the finance committee since 2011. “Subaru’s commitment to positively impacting local communities is unparalleled! Their genuine desire to help our neighbors is a hallmark of their corporate culture. We are grateful for their financial support and the ability to share our mission with their customers. We are elated by this incredibly generous donation from Subaru and deeply grateful to John for selecting us as a beneficiary” stated Michelle Otten Guenther, President of the Literacy Network. The power of education and learning to read can shift the narrative of someone’s entire life story. Busam Subaru’s commitment to our community demonstrates the powerful impact that occurs when people work together to make our community stronger! Thank you, Busam Subaru, for working with the Literacy Network on this mission and being an exemplary community partner!

Busam Subaru Loves to Care - 2019  –  Christina B

The Tri-State Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was proud to partner with Busam Subaru in support of Mercy Fairfield Hospital. Brandon Mircale and C. Jeff Weiss from Busam Subaru were incredibly gracious to “opt in” on Subaru of America’s national partnership with LLS to provide blankets for cancer patients, and for the third year in a row selected Marcy Fairfield. It was an honor for us to work them in providing these beautiful blankets, craft kits, and messages of HOPE to patients and their families. The staff and volunteers of LLS are truly grateful for Busam Subaru’s generosity and support! The Mercy Fairfield staff on hand to accept these donations were Shane Knisley, Melissa Peters, Keshia Hill, Natalie Goforth, Julie Rose, Jennifer Angel, and Brenda Singleton. Mary Christ who is currently a patient in Mercy’s cancer unit was very touched to receive these items and commented on the exceptional care she is receiving there. All the best to Busam Subaru, Mercy Fairfield, and all of the patients, we hope this conveyed a sense of comfort to them at this difficult time.

Thank You Busam Subaru for "Sharing the Love"  –  Michelle O

Busam Subaru continues to lead the way as an exemplary community partner. Their genuine desire to help our neighbors and amplify goodness is a hallmark of their corporate culture. Busam Subaru's “Share the Love” event provided their customers with a unique platform to support Literacy Network efforts, raise awareness and provide much needed financial support for our programs. During this year’s “Share the Love” campaign, the Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati received an astounding total of $32,298 in donations, which allows us to grow and expand our reach within the Greater Cincinnati Community and raise awareness about our programs! This year, we placed 50 new Little Free Libraries to improve access to reading materials. Nearly 2,000 new tutors were trained and placed with adults and children to give them one-on-one reading assistance outside of the classroom. We held 12 classes to help students struggling with more severe reading deficiencies and 200 character coaches visited classrooms to provide mentorship for elementary students. Our adult program held 5 classes for adults reading at or below a 4th-grade level, with over 50 adults meeting one-on-one with tutors outside of class. Finally, the Literacy Network hosts the city’s Literacy Hotline, which has been busier than ever, fielding well over 2,500 calls. Busam Subaru’s “Share the Love” campaign enabled us to share our mission like never before; helping our programs grow and reach more people in need. The team at Busam Subaru is also wonderful to work with. We are incredibly grateful for this tremendous donation and the opportunity to share what we do with Subaru customers. The power of education and learning to read can shift the narrative of someone’s entire life story. Busam Subaru’s commitment to our community demonstrates the powerful impact that occurs when people work together to make our community stronger! Thank you for working with the Literacy Network on this mission!

Warm Blankets and Messages of Hope  –  Roseann H

On July 25, 2017, representatives from Busam Subaru and the Tri-State Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society delivered 80 blankets for patients, 10 craft kits for visiting children, and a dozen “messages of hope” to Mercy Health’s Fairfield Hospital. Tom Carleton, Tri-State Chapter Executive Director, joined Branden Miracle, Busam Subaru On-line Operations Manager, and Jeff Weiss, Busam Subaru Customer Concierge, in presenting these gifts of warmth and support to Tom Urban, Mercy Health North Market President and CEO; Ellen Hensler, Nurse Manager – Oncology; Jennifer Angel, Unit-based Educator; and Sarah Mancini, Advance Practice Provider, OHC Fairfield. Both Ms. Hensler and Ms. Angel, who helped to coordinate the delivery, expressed gratitude on behalf of the patients they serve, noting that this type of expression of support can be all it takes to turn around a patient’s day. LLS truly appreciates Branden, Jeff, and all the staff at Busam Subaru, for demonstrating that Subaru truly does LOVE TO CARE!

Partners In Prime was proud to be selected as Busam Subaru's Share The Love Hometown Charity. With the support of Busam Subaru's customers, over $5,000 was raised to directly impact the programs and services Partners In Prime provides to Fairfield and surrounding communities. This generosity will truly make a difference in our ability to provide Meals On Wheels, Health Screening, and In-Home Services to those in the area.
